ACN Legal Advisory Committee

ACN’s Legal Advisory Committee was created to ensure that ACN and its representatives adhere to the highest ethical standards.

ACN’s Founders are committed to ensuring the company and its Independent Representatives adhere to the highest ethical standards and perform under a marketing plan that complies with consumer protection laws.

ACN maintains that commitment with expert oversight of the company’s policies and procedures by the ACN Legal Advisory Committee. Retained by ACN, this distinguished board comprises of three former state attorneys general, a former commissioner of Australia’s consumer protection agency and a retired federal court judge from Canada.

Honesty, Integrity, Credibility
“It is our responsibility to make sure that the reputation of this company is a reputation of honesty, integrity and credibility,” said Robert Stephan a former Attorney General. Other members include former Kentucky Attorney General Chris Gorman, former Arizona Attorney General Grant Woods, University of Newcastle Professor Emeritus Dr. Warren Pengilley and the Honourable William P. McKeown, a retired federal court judge in Canada and former chairman of the Canadian Competition Tribunal.

Committee member’s study ACN’s practices, products and marketing strategies for compliance with the laws in every state and country in which ACN representatives operate. In addition, the board reviews the Independent Representative Agreement which every new representative must sign before starting their ACN business. By signing the agreement, each representative pledges to act in a lawful, ethical and moral manner and agrees not to make any false or misleading statements.

Colleen Jones, ACN’s Global Vice President and General Counsel, works closely with the board to address consumer protection and general issues regarding direct selling. “I think ACN’s plans for the future are part of why we are so concerned about doing it right and part of why we have taken such great pains to distinguish ourselves,” she said.

Besides tending to the issues that arise in ACN, members of the Legal Advisory Committee speak to representatives several times a year at ACN International Events and communicate with them through the company’s quarterly newsmagazine.

The Legal Advisory Committee provides guidance in order to ensure that ACN is operating in compliance with the laws. ACN take seriously any infraction on the part of ACN’s Independent Representatives.
